Volunteer
AccessUK is run on an entirely not for profit basis, so we need your help to deliver our programmes to young people in your area.
How can you help?
- Be a mentor
- Be a role model
- Provide work experience for a young person
- Offer services e.g. Public Relations, Fundraising
- Offer sponsorship of AccessUK
- Provide workshops and seminars
Be a mentor
To be a mentor to a young person, you’ll need bags of enthusiasm, commitment and passion for your role as a mentor. You’ll need to commit regular time to the young person and to AccessUK.
Be a Role Model
For those unable to be a mentor, why not come to one of our regular Role Model seminars at local schools? Events consist of a panel of Role Models followed by round table discussions with young people about career opportunities. Why not come along and share your path to success and inspire young people? For more information on our Role Model seminars, click here. If you’d like to sign up, please enter your details in this online form.
Provide Work Experience
We aim to place our service users in a variety of voluntary and work placements as a means of building up their experience in the workplace and their CVs.
Services
As a not for profit organisation we greatly appreciate any pro bono services that you can offer. If you or your company is able to help us in any way, please get in touch.
Sponsorship
All our employability services are provided with no expense to the beneficiary however to continue and sustain our community programmes AccessUK requires the help and generosity of corporations and the public. We recognise that our unique services, ultimately have to be supported by the same communities we wish to serve.
There is a clear disconnection between mainstream careers practitioners and BME jobseekers. The 'one size fits all" solution to youth unemployment is inherently flawed. We believe this lack of understanding may negatively impact our ability to attract the necessary funds, required from stakeholders, to fully implement our project.
Workshop & Seminars
As part of mentoring programme, we also offer life skills training such as First Aid, Goal Setting workshops, Voluntary work as well as other activities. If you are able to contribute to events such as this, please get in touch.
Spread the word!
Last of all, please help us by spreading the word about our activities. We have a Facebook and Twitter account so please Like our posts, share them with friends or just follow us on Twitter.
